Leave the cling film wrap on for 2 hours
When you get home take the wrap off and before doing anything clean your hands thoroughly
Easiest to have a shower with medium-hot water, warm enough to open your pores for cleaning.
Use liquid soap from a bottle not a bar of soap, ideally one with as few perfumes and colourings as possible.
Gently lather over the whole tattoo and rinse until it feels like clean skin.
Get out the shower and do not touch your regular towel to the tattoo as bacteria and lint will be introduced into the tattoo.
Use clean kitchen towel to gentle dab dry the tattoo
Leave to air dry for 10-15 minutes
After air dry then clean hands again very well
(After 2-5 days as instructed) Warm up after care balm (butterluxe or Palmer’s cocoa butter) with a clean finger to make more liquid and dot a very small amount over the tattoo and then massage in gently. Start with a little and if you need to add more just use a different clean finger each time to keep the pot of balm sterile.
Less is more and little and often with balming your tattoo
Then leave open to air but keeping it clean and not touching
Just before bed on the first 1-3 nights rewrap in cling film just over night.
CLEAN LIKE THIS X2 daily
Balm 2-5 times a day - whenever the tattoo has dried out a little
After Your Appointment
general care/rules
Ensure you have clean hands whenever touching your tattoo.
Clean, running water is fine but no submerging in water (hot tub, bath tub swimming pool etc) to reduce chance of infection.
Wear loose fitting clean clothing to avoid rubbing and irritating your tattoo.
Keep out of the sun until it is fully healed and then suncream like an area of sensitive skin. NO SUNCREAM BEFORE FULLY HEALED.
Do not pick or scratch your tattoo or any scabs that form as this can cause scarring or pull ink out of your tattoo.
If very itchy then light taps can alleviate this irritation
