preparing for your appointment
in the days/weeks before
Please ensure you have informed me in as much detail as possible the idea for your tattoo and any changes well ahead of time.
In the run up to your appointment it is very beneficial for you to put your skin into the best position to be tattooed as possible. There are several ways that you can best prepare for this:
Healthy diet! - Foods that are high in omega-3s, vitamin C and antioxidants. a healthy body on the inside will mean a more healthy body on the outside!
Stay Hydrated! - I cannot stress enough that drinking enough water and keeping your skin hydrated from the inside can make the entire tattoo process easier and more enjoyable. (Easier for me = Faster = Cheaper for you)
Exfoliate! - When showering focus on really exfoliating your skin, especially the area to be tattooed. This will remove older surface skin cells and promote regeneration to ensure your skin is as supple and fresh as possible.
Moisturise! - Using a good quality moisturiser on the area to be tattooed will help the skin be in the best shape possible to be worked on. This step is especially useful if the area of skin is particularly tough (E.G Hands/Knees/Elbows) or is the skin is aged or weathered through perhaps working outside/a trade.
on the day
Please ensure that you have had a good nights sleep and a substantial meal before turning up to your appointment. Being tattooed takes its toll on the body and if you’re blood sugar level isn’t adequate then you could be prone to fainting.
Avoid alcohol the night before and the day of your appointment. Alcohol can thin the blood and make the tattooing process more difficult (and therefore more costly) also no one enjoys a tattoo when a hangover is involved (neither you nor me)
Please DO NOT shave your skin before your appointment, leave it to me. This can avoid unnecessary irritation and micro regrowth.
Please make sure you research your travel ahead of time to ensure you arrive at your appointment on time (please don’t come early or late) the address for where you can find me is:
Moth & Flame Tattoo, 79 Bromley Common, BR29LP
I recommend using the app CITYMAPPER to best plan your trip if you are using public transport.
